Stat 3: 50% believe blog content to be as trustworthy as traditional media
Stat 4: 41% spend more than three hours a week blogging
Stat 5: More than 40% have less than 10 visitors per week
Stat 6: 55% of bloggers in Asia were found to be female and 45% male.
Stat 7: 20% of Malaysians voted for Blogs focusing on politics, compared to 14% on average across Asia

Mak Cik Nasi Lemak ... Aja - aja

Selalu pagi2 kalau aku tak breakfast kat opis time aku syif malam , aku akan tapau nasi lemak ler kat tepi jalan . Aku rasa kat kawasan umah aku jer ader 5 gerai jer . Banyak betul . Persaingan mesti mantap .

Satu pagi , aku berborak dengan mak cik nasi lemak faveret aku (sebab dier selalu bg aku nasi lebih n orang kampung aku ... kulaan ler kirenyer ..) . Dier siap citer ler ketensenan dier ttg gerai yg br bukak . Baru nie ader satu gerai yg bukak jual nasi lemak yg sudah siap dibungkus. Bagus gak dier nyer taktik . Dier pergi kat jalan yg ader bonggol atau jalan yang ader traffic light . Letak 2 kerusi dah blh bkk bisnes . Memang bagus utk buyer yg nak cepat atau takder masa . Compare dgn mak cik nie . Budak yang tukang jaga tuh siap dpt 25 % dr harga nasi lemak tuh . Skang dah ler cuti sekolah . Jadi tak susah utk carik orang .

Biler dier dah abis citer ... kenapa yer aku tak beli kat situ . Still aku beli kat mak cik nie . Walaupon dr jauh aku dah tgk , ramai orang menunggu turn sementara nasi lemak dier dibungkus . Setelah fikir2 br aku tau sebabnya :

- Aku still nakkan nasi lemak yang panas . Wlupon yang dah siap dibungkus tu orang tuh cakap panas . Baru jer masak pagi tadi . Tapi bayangkan pkl baper dier masak , pukul baper dier nak tapau . Kalau dlm satu hari kuantiti yg dier buat lebih dari 100 . Perlukan baper lamer utk bungkus . Aku nyer mindset dah camtuh .. huhu ..

- Aku sukakan penjual yg mesra . Ada satu pagi aku mmg dah ngantuk giler . Dtg kedai tu mmg ader org . So aku dah rasa sengal dah . Nyesal berenti gak . Then tiba2 mak cik nie tegur . Dik nak aper ? Keje2 ker ari nie .. Jadi hilang ler sangap nak menuggu nasi lemak dibungkus . Betul .. bagi aku kadang2 peniaga lupa kepada good services . Bukan sajer produk mesti bagus , tapi layanan terhadap pelanggan pon kena best . Baru ler pelanggan nak dtg and try produk kite .

So makcik , kalau ader bende ni aku rasa pon dah ckp utk buat aku beli nasi lemak kat tmpt mak cik . Jangan risau dengan budak hingusan kat tepi jalan tu tau . Baru dugaan kecik jer tuh ...

He is incidentally one of the top 50 influencial people in Asia according the latest Asiaweek publication. He is also the new IT advisor to the Thai Prime Minister.

LOVE YOUR JOB, BUT NEVER FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR COMPANY BCOZ U NEVER KNOW WHEN COMPANY STOPS LOVING YOU - Narayana Murthy

I know people who work 12 hours a day, six days a week, or more. Some people do so because of a work emergency where the long hours are only temporary. Other people I know have put in these hours for years. I don’t know if they are working all these hours, but I do know they are in the office this long.

Others put in long office hours because they are addicted to the workplace.

Whatever the reason for putting in overtime, working long hours over the long term is harmful to the person and to the organization.

There are things manager can do to change this for everyone’s benefit. Being in the office long hours, over long period of times, makes way for potential errors. My colleagues who are in the office long hours frequently make mistakes caused by fatigue. Correcting these mistakes requires their time as well as the time and energy of others. I have seen people work Tuesday through Friday to correct mistakes made after 5PM on Monday.

Another problem is that people who are in the office long hours are not pleasant company. They often complain about other people (who aren’t working as hard); they are irritable, or cranky or even angry. Other people avoid them. Such behavior poses problems, where work goes much better when people work together instead of avoiding one another.

As Managers, there are things we can do to help people leave the office.

First and foremost is to set the example and go home ourselves. I work with a manager who chides people for working long hours. His words quickly lose their meaning when he sends these chiding group emails with a time-stamp of 2am. Sunday.

Second is to encourage people to put some balance in their lives. For instance, here is a guideline I find helpful:

1) Wake up, eat a good breakfast and go to work.

2) Work hard and smart for eight or nine hours.

3) Go home.

4) Read the books/comics, watch a funny movie, dig in the dirt, play with your kids, etc.

5) Eat well and sleep well.

This called recreating. Doing Steps 1, 3, 4 and 5 enable 2.

Working regular hours and recreating daily are simple concepts. They are hard for some of us because that requires ‘personal change’. They are possible since we all have the power to choose to do them. In considering the issue of overtime, I am reminded of my oldest son.

When he was a toddler, if people were visiting the apartment, he would not fall asleep no matter how long the visit, and no matter what time of day it was.

He would fight off sleep until the visitors left, It was as if he was afraid that he would miss something. Once our visitor’s left, he would go to sleep.

By this time, however, he was over tired and would scream half the night with nightmares. He, my wife and I, all paid the price for his
fear of missing out.

Perhaps, some people put in such long hours because they don’t want to miss anything when they leave the office. The trouble with this is
that events will never stop happening. That is life. Things happen 24 hours a day.

Allowing for little rest is not ultimately practical. So, take a nap. Things will happen while you’re asleep, but you will have the energy
to catch up with you awake.

Aku rasa sangat tertarik bile dengar bdk2 ni bercerita pasal budaya diorang . Contohnya Vanit ni vegeterian . Aku sebenarnya pelik gak dengan saper yang veggie. Penat fikir aper menu yang diorang makan . Macam takder variasi langsung . Mesti makan sayur jer hari . Sayur masak kicap , sayur masak sambal . Biler dah berbual baru ler aku tau . Diorang bercerita ler tak semestinya sayur diorang camtuh . Kat Malaysia ni kuah dal hanya ader satu jenis jer. Kat India sane , kuah dal tu macam2 ader . Aku pon x blh bayang sebab aku tak pernah smpi saner. Memang aku x blh byg dal yg bermacam2 warna dan bermacam rasa . Rasa nak pekena gak sekali dua nie .

Dan biler time keje tadi , Ron member aku bdk philipines kena sakat ler . Then tiba2 dier cakap .. Nolahh .. Oit sumer tiba2 senyap dan terus gelak . Aku mula2 x paham pehal lak diroang ni gelak . Biler Charu cakap dgn Ron yg you nie mcm Malaysian ler ..br aku perasan . Aku dahler memang selalu pakai 'LAH' biler cakap English ..huhu..Diorang perasan rupanya . Klu kite LAH Indian diorang akan pakai YAR . Huhu menarik . Paling tak tahan sekali bile time nak balik , vanit tanya aku nak balik ker dah ? Then aku pon jawab Yes yarr ... how bout u ? Already planning to go also ? .. Then vanit gelak .. Demn .. Aku pon samer macam Ron .. Huhu..

Masih Dalam Honeymoon

Sedar x sedar , dah sebulan aku kat berhijrah ke tempat baru . Ermm .. Masih terasa sengal2 gak lagi. Dahler raya arituh aku cuti 2 hari jer . Nyesal giler aku tak belasah cuti kaw2 . Konon cadang nak tunjuk aku budak baik ler , tak suka amik cuti lamer . Almaklum budak baru , kena tunjuk contoh teladan yang baik . Kena tunjuk skit keskemaan aku ni.

Sekali tengok2 biler aku datang keje lepas cuti raya tuh, demn skang ni aku kat negara maner . Pehal yang melintas depan aku sumer bukan sebangsa dengan aku .Argghh .. siap lagi senior yang dari India sound , you ni tak beraya ker , takder family ker .Aduss ..lagi sadis ..ingat aku anak yatim ker ..Aku cadang aku nak sound gak kat dier camtuh . You pehal tak raya jugak . Mesti aku malu gak . Mesti dier cakap nak beraya camner . Mcm ler family dier kat sini .

Skang ni aku dah start masuk syif gak tapi still in training lagi . Jadi macam biasa . Aku tak dapat pc . Duduk sebelah buddy aku . Menengok jer dier buat keje . Dier anto email aku usya , chatting pon aku join tlg tmbhkan dialog , tlg call site contact klu problem . Jadi macam assistant gak ler skang nie tu yang sangap tuh . Aper nak buat .. aku rasa mcm sampai hujung bulan ler aku buat keje camni. Dugaan ler .. ari2 aku rasa mcm nak tertido jer biler duk melepak camnie . Biler ade keje memang rasa tensen giler tapi biler takder aduss skit2 nak terlelap ... sangap giler.

Ari nie aku ader latihan kebakaran lagi . Siap ader bomba datang lagi . Bila dier buat pengumuman yang ader kebakaran , aku tengok sumer orang relaks jer . Sah nie memang main2 jer nie . Tapi yang tak tahan ader 2-3 orang yg pakai baju striking giler warna oren beraksi sebagai penunjuk arah n suruh kitoerg join latihan kebakaran tuh . Dah ler lif diorang off kan . Demn !! giler aper . Opis aku dah ler tingkat 7 . Mau tercabut kaki aku nak turun camni .Aku tak boleh bayangkan orang yang keje kat KLCC kalau terbakar camni . Penat tuh nak menapak . Tapi disebabkan aku memang nak mengulor pon , aku bersemangat giler nak join dengan syarat aku tak dipaksa pakai baju oren yg menyilaukan mata tuh .Ah ah excited nyer aku nak ngulor nie ..hoho .. jom selamatkan diri sendiri .... ..
